All Things for Those Who Wait

I had perhaps the best conversation of the past year and a half tonight.  The soul feels like Remarque’s western front.  The turmoil is newly ended, but all is quiet again.  I feel strangely at peace.

I have been dishonest with people for so long now, because the expectation from people these days is that you find a way to make yourself happy.  Your unhappiness will simply drag other people down, but sometimes, if someone really takes a moment to listen to what you have to say, you can find your way.  You can figure things out if people listen and give you the time of day.  Telling someone sweeping generalities which will suffice as a quick fix will never heal the soul.

I know that the work is not done, and I know that happiness is an elusive temptress, but I have been able to articulate for the first time in a while what it is that was causing the disconnect in my life.  That shit is important.

Thanks for reading.  I’m signing this one off with a Jets To Brazil quote:

“all things for those who wait, take time to find your way, happy answers appear in your mistakes, even when your wrong I think your great……”

Truth.
